Alexander Decolonial Perspective on Alexander Lowen
I'm happy to share the publication of a new article offering a decolonial perspective on Alexander Lowen.
This is the first in a series of three pieces that will explore Lowen’s life "against the grain," drawing inspiration from Walter Benjamin’s Theses on the Philosophy of History. The next two articles, covering later periods of his life and work, will be published later this year.
In this first article, I delve into the early life experiences of Lowen and his family, who came from the Jewish diaspora, tracing their journey from Russia to the United States.
I also draw on ideas from authors such as Walter Benjamin, Sigmund Freud, and Antonio Bispo dos Santos (Nego Bispo), with a particular focus on the importance of storytelling rooted in ancestral heritage.

Perspectiva Decolonial sobre Alexander Lowen
Estou feliz em compartilhar a publicação de um novo artigo que oferece uma perspectiva decolonial sobre Alexander Lowen.
Este é o primeiro de uma série de três peças que explorarão a vida de Lowen "contra a corrente", inspirando-se nas Teses sobre a Filosofia da História de Walter Benjamin. Os próximos dois artigos, que cobrirão períodos posteriores de sua vida e trabalho, serão publicados ainda este ano.
Neste primeiro artigo, aprofundo as experiências da infância de Lowen e sua família, que vieram da diáspora judaica, traçando sua jornada da Rússia para os Estados Unidos.
Também utilizo ideias de autores como Walter Benjamin, Sigmund Freud e Antonio Bispo dos Santos (Nego Bispo), com um foco particular na importância da narrativa enraizada na herança ancestral.

Questo è il primo di una serie di tre articoli che esploreranno la vita di Lowen “controcorrente”, traendo ispirazione dalle “Tesi sulla filosofia della storia” di Walter Benjamin. I prossimi due articoli, che tratteranno i periodi successivi della sua vita e del suo lavoro, saranno pubblicati nel corso dell'anno.
In questo primo articolo, approfondisco le prime esperienze di vita di Lowen e della sua famiglia, provenienti dalla diaspora ebraica, ripercorrendo il loro viaggio dalla Russia agli Stati Uniti.
Attingo anche alle idee di autori come Walter Benjamin, Sigmund Freud e Antonio Bispo dos Santos (Nego Bispo), con particolare attenzione all'importanza della narrazione radicata nel patrimonio ancestrale.

Это первая из серии из трех статей, в которых Лоуэн исследует свою жизнь "вопреки здравому смыслу", черпая вдохновение в тезисах Вальтера Беньямина по философии истории. Следующие две статьи, посвященные более поздним периодам его жизни и творчества, будут опубликованы в этом году позднее.
В этой первой статье я рассказываю о раннем жизненном опыте Лоуэна и его семьи, выходцев из еврейской диаспоры, и прослеживаю их путь из России в Соединенные Штаты.
