Dallas Society for Bioenergetic Analysis
This year our training was able to return to full-time in-person training with 8 trainees. This marks the forty-first year of training. 41 years! The focus on the first training in September 2022 was the developmental process, generational trauma, epigenetic trauma in the womb, birth issues, and neurophysiology of trauma. We bonded during the weekend while sharing our histories, realizing we are not alone in our early traumas. My own history includes three generations of abuse to women by alcoholic men. I was denied at birth by my father because I was female, stolen at one year of age by my courageous mother and hidden from my biological father. I openly share my history so as not to break the confidentiality of trainees but I will say that my history is more common than one would hope.
Our training group took our baby picture, proclaimed our training community as the new family to help learn embodiment.
The group encouraged me to share their group photo for this article!
Following a process I call the Blue Rope, where individuals stand on a Blue rope when their history relates to some early trauma. We took a baby picture! We declared our right to be here! We declared our right to exist; to be seen and heard; to have our needs met; and our right to belong in this new community of Bioenergetics and in the world.
Watch out world! Here come the next new CBTs!
