Dear colleagues and friends: I will be sending out regular updates on behalf of the Scientific Committee about the program for the 2025 IIBA Conference. Our theme is: The Uniqueness of Bioenergetic Analysis: Synthesizing Psychoanalytic and Contemporary Perspectives in Embodied Practice.

The Committee is organizing itself around the selection of speakers, and also what we believe the speakers should be addressing in relation to this theme. To this end we plan to have a number of sessions with our keynote speakers to sharpen the focus of the sessions. We will have one speaker from the community of psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapists paired with one the members of our BA community in each presentation who has also thought about and presented on the themes related to this overall conference title.

The three areas we will focus on are: contemporary developments in psychoanalytic theory and practice; synthesizing different technical methods into a psychodynamic framework; understanding malevolence and evil from a somatopsychic perspective. We, on the Committee, think these are three areas among the most significant that call for our attention as psychotherapists. We intend that the presentations will deepen and broaden knowledge and insight into the philosophical issues that arise in the contemporary practice of psychotherapy—the ‘why’ of our work, the ‘how’ of our work, and in specific for us, the implications of an embodied practice that uses a unitary somatopsychic view of personality and of psychotherapy process.

As of now we have secured the participation of 3 of the most eminent and well-known theorists, thinkers, and authors to speak to us from the broad psychodynamic field.  Dr. Nany McWilliams will speak to the first thematic element on contemporary theory. Dr. Paul Wachtel will participate in a dialogue about the synthesizing of behavioral, dynamic, and other technical modalities into a method based on common principles of effective psychotherapy. Dr. Susan Grand will continue her deep investigation into the analytic understanding of the manifestations of evil and malevolence, and this will examined from perspective of changes in somatopsychic life.

Each of these presenters will be paired with a senior member of our community who has also investigated these issues adding in the dimension of somatopsychic process which we in BA dedicate ourselves to understanding. I will be writing to you with more presenter information in the future. 

Of course, one of the main reasons for a conference is to meet together to present to each other our work, and to learn from our colleagues about their work. We will have two sessions of workshops each day. A request for proposals will be sent in the late Fall of 2024. We hope that you, dear readers, will consider submitting a proposal, an invitation we also extend to those who are not a part of the BA community but have work that addresses the theme of this conference that you want to share.

Enviarei atualizações regulares em nome do Comitê Científico sobre o programa da Conferência IIBA de 2025. Nosso tema é: A Singularidade da Análise Bioenergética: Sintetizando Perspectivas Psicanalíticas e Contemporâneas na Prática Corporal.

A Comissão está se organizando em torno da seleção dos palestrantes e também do que acreditamos que os palestrantes deveriam abordar em relação a esse tema. Para este fim, planeamos ter uma série de sessões com os nossos oradores principais para aguçar o foco das sessões. Teremos um palestrante da comunidade de psicoterapeutas psicanalíticos e psicodinâmicos emparelhado com um dos membros da nossa comunidade BA em cada apresentação que também pensou e apresentou os temas relacionados a este título geral da conferência.

As três áreas nas quais nos concentraremos são: desenvolvimentos contemporâneos na teoria e prática psicanalítica; sintetizar diferentes métodos técnicos num quadro psicodinâmico; compreender a malevolência e o mal a partir de uma perspectiva somatopsíquica. Nós, no Comité, pensamos que estas são três áreas entre as mais significativas que chamam a nossa atenção como psicoterapeutas. Pretendemos que as apresentações aprofundem e ampliem o conhecimento e a visão sobre as questões filosóficas que surgem na prática contemporânea da psicoterapia - o 'porquê' do nosso trabalho, o 'como' do nosso trabalho e, especificamente para nós, as implicações de uma prática corporificada que utiliza uma visão somatopsíquica unitária da personalidade e do processo psicoterapêutico.

Até agora, garantimos a participação de 3 dos mais eminentes e conhecidos teóricos, pensadores e autores para falar conosco do amplo campo psicodinâmico. Dr. Nany McWilliams falará sobre o primeiro elemento temático da teoria contemporânea. Dr. Paul Wachtel participará de um diálogo sobre a síntese de modalidades comportamentais, dinâmicas e outras modalidades técnicas em um método baseado em princípios comuns de psicoterapia eficaz. A Dra. Susan Grand continuará a sua análise profunda sobre a compreensão analítica das manifestações do mal e da malevolência, e esta será examinada na perspetiva das mudanças na vida somatopsíquica.

Cada um desses apresentadores será acompanhado por um membro sênior de nossa comunidade que também investigou essas questões acrescentando a dimensão do processo somatopsíquico que nós na BA nos dedicamos a compreender. Escreverei para você com mais informações sobre o apresentador no futuro. 

É claro que uma das principais razões para uma conferência é reunirmo-nos para apresentarmos uns aos outros o nosso trabalho e aprendermos com os nossos colegas sobre o seu trabalho. Teremos duas sessões de workshops por dia. Uma solicitação de propostas será enviada no final do outono de 2024. Esperamos que vocês, queridos leitores, considerem enviar uma proposta, um convite que também estendemos àqueles que não fazem parte da comunidade BA, mas têm trabalhos que abordam o tema desta conferência que você deseja compartilhar.

Уважаемые коллеги и друзья, от имени Научного комитета я буду регулярно рассылать информацию о программе конференции IIBA 2025 года. Наша тема: Уникальность биоэнергетического анализа: синтез психоаналитических и современных перспектив в телесной практике.

Комитет занимается отбором докладчиков, а также тем, что, по нашему мнению, должны обсуждать докладчики в связи с этой темой. С этой целью мы планируем провести несколько сессий с нашими основными докладчиками, чтобы заострить внимание на сессиях. В каждой презентации один докладчик из сообщества психоаналитических и психодинамических психотерапевтов будет работать в паре с одним из членов нашего сообщества БА, который также работал над темами, связанными с этим общим названием конференции.

Три направления, на которых мы сосредоточимся: современные разработки в психоаналитической теории и практике; синтез различных технических методов в психодинамических рамках; понимание злобы и зла с соматопсихической точки зрения. Мы, члены комитета, считаем, что эти три области являются одними из самых значимых, требующих нашего внимания как психотерапевтов. Мы надеемся, что презентации углубят и расширят знания и понимание философских вопросов, возникающих в современной практике психотерапии - "почему" нашей работы, "как" нашей работы, и, в частности, для нас, последствий воплощенной практики, использующей унитарный соматопсихический взгляд на личность и процесс психотерапии.

На данный момент мы обеспечили участие трех самых известных теоретиков, мыслителей и авторов, которые выступят перед нами из широкого психодинамического поля. Доктор Нэнси МакВильямс выступит с первым тематическим элементом, посвященным современной теории. Доктор Пол Вахтель примет участие в диалоге о синтезе поведенческих, динамических и других технических модальностей в метод, основанный на общих принципах эффективной психотерапии.  Доктор Сьюзан Грант продолжит глубокий анализ аналитического понимания проявлений зла и недоброжелательности, и это будет рассмотрено с точки зрения изменений в соматопсихической жизни. 

Каждый из этих докладчиков будет работать в паре со старшим членом нашего сообщества, который также исследовал эти вопросы, добавляя измерение соматопсихического процесса, пониманию которого мы в БА посвящаем себя. Я обязательно сообщу вам больше информации о докладчиках в будущем.

Конечно, одна из главных причин проведения конференции - собраться вместе, чтобы представить друг другу нашу работу и узнать от наших коллег об их работе. Каждый день мы будем проводить по две серии семинаров. Форма для заявки на участие в конференции будет отправлена в конце осени 2024 года. Мы надеемся, что вы, дорогие читатели, подумаете о том, чтобы подать предложение. Мы также приглашаем тех, кто не является частью сообщества БА, но имеет опыт работы, затрагивающий тему этой конференции, которым вы хотели бы поделиться.
